Hello, I have a 1999 Seadoo speedster 787 that is now hydro-locking with oil. If I let it sit for a day it is very hard to start and the plug closest to the cockpit fouls up and gets wet with oil (the one towards the back of the boat has no problems). If I let it sit for more than about 2-3...
OK, I sprayed some seafoam in the carbs while it ran and also cleaned the air vent covers. Replaced fuel filters, oil filters, spark plugs and cleaned rave valves. It does start better, no more hard starting in either engine YAY! But she still dies at idle (maybe an idle screw adjustment...
Sorry, I've been putting in extra hours at work and haven't been around the boat much. Ill try to get the measurements in the morning! (I work 3rd shift)
Plugs were dark and wet when replaced. Can you elaborate a bit more? What is excessive rotary cover clearance?
Never mind, I found this and i will try checking the valve cover.
As the title states, I had my speedster at lake Erie today and experienced hard starting on both engines, however the port engine was worse. Also port engine wants to die at idle or just above idle speeds after around 5-10 minutes (for example traveling through a no wake zone) and it died on me...
Just a quick followup, I think my F1 fuse fix was the issue, didn't have it soldered all the way. Always check your work before you put everything back together! Also, I made a video of my fix. Hopefully it will help others with the same issues!

Yes, I have tested it without being connected to the boat at all, I tested the ohms at the connector. There are 3 wires leading from the connector. The black one is obviously ground. What are the other two?
I have tested it in the boat with the connector and on the bench with a connector. But I haven't tested it without the connector to rule that out. Maybe I should try that next. Should I cut off the connector and test bare wires?
Well that's the weird part, I don't get any readings from the meter at full, empty or any other level. The only time I get any ohm reading is when the float is actively moving. Maybe I am doing something wrong with my meter?
Are there any other fuses on the board that could be bad? Or could my...
So here we are, another new boat owner has a problem with a Gauge. I tried jumping the Gauge wires at the sender unit and the Gauge reads full when jumped (otherwise it reads empty all the time). I replaced the float with a new one. And I also re soldered the f1 fuse and sealed it. For some...
