    Electrically dead '96 GS

Checked my registration, my GS is a '97, but I doubt that makes any difference.

    Electrically dead '96 GS

I never noticed that but I'll take another look at it. As far as I know, there's only the one ground (black) cable connected to the neg battery post, and I have done nothing to it since the last time it ran a month or so ago.

    Electrically dead '96 GS

I haven't used or started my ski in 6-8 weeks and it is totally dead. There are no beeps when I attach the DESS, hitting the start button 5 times does nothing. The battery (AGM) is new. Battery connections are clean and tight. I removed the neg battery terminal (easier to get to), hooked up a...

    Help

Well that truly sucks. Do you know if it was ever flooded? If the hull had water in it and the starter was under water? Are you going to try and drill the bolts out and retap it, or are you going to pull the engine and bring it to a machine shop and have them do it?

    Help

Not to be a hardass but you are going all the way to the end of the line to solve a problem that could be anywhere in the line leading up to that. It could be the starter but before you go to all the trouble of removing it, check everything leading up to there first. You jumped the high amp...

    Help

All I'm suggesting is to start at the beginning and check the battery as that is the first place the problem can be, new battery or not. And, remember, do not attempt to charge the battery hooked up, you have to disconnect it first or you will blow the MPEM computer and have a much bigger, more...

    Help

I believe the problem is your battery and the clicking of the solenoid is due to low battery voltage, not all these esoteric things mentioned above. Have you measured the battery voltage recently? Did you try and start the ski with a good, fully charged battery via jumper cables? If you got a...

'97 GS won't turn over unless I pull plugs

Got a new AGM battery, charged it up and cleaned off the cable ends, put a few cc's of oil in the cylinders and spun it a few times without the plugs to lube the cylinders a little. Put a gallon of fresh gas in it and reinstalled the plugs and after less than a minute of cranking, it started up...

'97 GS won't turn over unless I pull plugs

Electric carts use 6 V deep cycle batteries, gas carts use 12 V standard starting batteries. I'll recheck the battery voltage and connections and make sure I have a fully charged battery. Is there anything else I need to do, besides fresh gas, before trying to get it to run after being laid up...

'97 GS won't turn over unless I pull plugs

I haven't used my low hour '97 GS for about a year (before that it started instantly and ran well). I don't have a battery installed in it now but hooked up heavy duty jumper cables from a charged-up golf cart battery, (which starts the cart fine), and I get 2 beeps from the DESS when I plug in...

Can thisi be fixed? Is it worth it?

I understand that. I put a little oil in the cylinder to provide a little lubrication before trying to start it because I'm sure it was totally dry in there because it had been sitting idle for many years. It won't give a falsely high reading unless you really put a lot in and greatly reduce the...
