Put mpem into diagnostic mode. With key not on post press either engine start switch 5 times. You should get a short and long beep to verify it entered diagnostic mode. Now put key on post and try to start either engine. If no start and you get beeps instead, report back what it does. It will be...
on mine, my lanyard literally fell apart, the rubber came apart. I had to tape temporarily until a new lanyard can be programmed. if it does not fit snug on the post I'd say it's time for a new lanyard for yours also
I have received several requests for parts- you can email halfpricecampers@gmail.com or text me at 770-527-8392 John
I can do paypal for payment and can ship most parts except the engine assemblies
a good set of allen wrenches, extensions, and a 17mm short wrench to reach the bottom right nut. Broken bolts are common so be careful and soak it with pb blaster overnight
cool. awaiting the writeup on this, with pics and /or wiring info so we can all learn how to do this if needed in the future for our boats. Now that BRP stopped jetboats in 2011 parts will be getting harder and more expensive to come by, so mods are the only hope in some cases.
PM me with what you need and I will quote a price, MPEM is already taken but have 2 good 787 engines and much more. Upholstery/seats are junk so nothing there
Engines WILL NOT be shipped, local pickup only near atlanta
I have a 97 challenger 1800 with no spark on one engine due to mpem. I'm interested to see if that works, but I already bought a parts boat for mine and will be taking the mpem off it, and selling the rest including good engines and all other parts. If anyone needs anything I will be posting...
looks like the electrical has been modded on that boat, I see 2 separate electrical boxes and that isn't stock, it should have one mpem that runs both motors. Just to beware, that will mean no neutral safety so it can start in gear, and also wont have reverse or neutral rev limiter so be very...
you have to open the bleed screw on the pump BEFORE doing the small oil lines. Let it gravity feed through the supply line first for a few minutes, put a white rag or paper towel in the bilge below the pump till you see it come out the pump, then close the bleed screw. DO NOT run the engine...
if your engine spins over but wont start, look at the rpm gauge while cranking. if it moves there's nothing wrong with the pickup coil in the stator housing. Check your engine ground cable running from the electrical box where the mpem is housed to the bottom of the starter on the engine that...
if no beeps the mpem isn't responding, check the dess post where you put the key on and clean it with a pencil eraser, do the same with the inside of the dess key. And, i have seen battery cables that LOOK good actually be bad as they corrode from the inside out. A cheap maintenance thing to...
I can tell you that it is looking like an mpem issue......if the battery was ever jump started from a running car/truck or battery cables hooked up backwards, or jumper cables hooked up backwards (even momentarily), it will fry the mpem. They are very sensitive and cannot take varying voltage...
still no spark on my 97 Challenger starboard engine. Verified magneto and trigger coil good, test light on coil white wire still does not light up when engine is cranked over. Even swapped start buttons to see if that was it. No go. I see the cdi is integrated into the MPEM. I have a 96...
