if you are getting a beep then it sounds like your DESS post or key. Not a mechanical issue. Do a search for dess post and key.

Also check the jet pump and make sure it is free and able to move.

I thought I had seized my engine as well this year after having the engine rebuilt last year. But the engine did turn over. It was my starter relay.

You can remove the drive shaft and use the impeller removal tool try and crank over the engine with a ratchet or breaker bar. That will tell u if it has siezed.

Do you hear a clicking sound when you push the ignition button? Have you jumped the starter relay?

Also, are you sure u r in Neutral? I know, dumb question but simple solutions are the best.

the relay is in a black plastic box on the stern side of the engine bay. You will see the red battery cables go through this box.

see if you can turn it over by running a screwdriver over the starter relay posts. This will tell you if the starter is good or if your motor is seized.

So far my rebuilt 951 is running like a bat out of hell. Second season on an SES rebuild. Towed tubes all day yesterday without missing a beat. That is until I ran out of fuel! I dont have any other rebuilds or experience with other builders to compare though.

I would check your oil pump adjustment/alignment. If you have done any maintenance to the throttle cable or carbs this would be standard protocol. The oil pump "actuator" is attached to the throttle cable and allows for more oil at higher throttle positions. If the idle position of the pump...

I should mention as well that the tiny phillips screws that held the plasic cover literally crumbled and I never bothered trying to drill and tap those spots on the shifter plate. I just let the plastic cover float on top. Has not been a problem and I dont think I will ever think about it again.

I also ended up replacing the allen screws with standard 6 point bolt heads. I lathered everything up with never seize too! Just in case I or anyone else needs to get back in there.

When I had to remove mine (throttle lever broke clean off at the base) I had to drill off the heads. Be careful not to drill through or break the base of the shifter plate. I am not sure of the year or your boat, but the screws on my boat went through the fiberglass and into a strip of...
