Yes I suggested that in the 3rd post on this thread.

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

I don't know much about it, I just read they are known to leak in that area when I was looking at buying mine since it was leaking oil into the hull. With it all apart - at this point- you'd really be foolish NOT to replace that seal just to be safe. You can pull that seal out a few ways but...

Who wants to bet a beer he didn't have the hull plug in?

I've bought a few parts from them and never had a problem. Just contact them and I'm sure they'll fix the situation.

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

I would get OEM Sea Doo to be safe for the Carbon seal. Don't know the price range on them. Aftermarket bearing assy is about $85 and Sea Doo is $105 - So again, I'd go with Sea Doo. You can get a Seal Puller for cheap, like $10 at Harbor Freight. If you have a little patience you can use a...

New (to me) 97 Challenger 1800....where to start ??

You can easily make your own puller with a bolt or some threaded rod, a lock nut and washer that's small enough to fit into the piston that grabs the piston pin and then a big washer and nut for the other side. Just make sure you remove both circlips on the piston pin first. If you want to...

2000 SeaDoo GTX - Stalling and Hesitation at low speed

What do you have your air mixtures screws set to? The stock settings have always worked for me and then the usual check/adjust of the accelerator pump and setting of the idle. Does it start and idle by itself or does it die? What is the ski's idle rpm?

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

Yes the jet pump and drive shaft have to be removed. If you look really closely at the picture I added above you can see the O rings on the inside. From my understanding it's usually the rubber boot assembly that clamps to the engine that goes bad. Usually being the key word. See if you...

    Taking on water

You should try what JPass said... With the boat level or a little low on the rear just run the garden hose in the rear and you should find the leak fairly easily.

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

Yes you would need to pull the jet pump and drive shaft out to replace the seal / bearing assembly. I'm not sure which seal is leaking, I just happened to hear about this same situation before I bought the same ski and it seems to be a very common problem. Yes the seal is part of the bearing...

    Taking on water

To narrow it down a little you can hand check the temp of the water in the hull. If the water in your hull is warmer than the lake it's leaking after it cooled the engine and if it's as cold as the lake then it's leaking into the hull before it cooled the engine.

What is this part, need help identifying ?

The solenoid needs both wires hooked up or it won't work. You need to check the manual and find out what is going on with your wiring before you do anything else. If you want to check your compression you could just jump the 2 large wires on the solenoid with a screwdriver or pliers. Might...

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

I bought the same ski late last year. I did see that situation on a few in the forums. It is a common failure point and the first thing to check when you find oil in your hull. You can buy the whole bearing assembly with seals and the rubber boot for about $100, there's about 20 new OEM Sea...

    96/97 gts mpem

Sounds like you need both. Does the seller with the mpem also have the rec/reg off the same ski for sale? That would be your best bet. As far as looking up part numbers for your ski world of powersports in Decatur il starts with 1990. I know most dealers start in 1996 so you may want to look...

99 GSX Limited Oil Line Bleed

Here's some info to help but if you can check it AFTER the check valves that would be best. I'd hate to hear someone blew up a 951 for a bad check valve.
