Need help picking a new motor!

I just finished pulling the motor out and removed everything except splitting the case. When I removed the motor mount plate I found a crack in the lower half of the crank case under the back cylinder. So, since I'll be buying another motor can I put a larger motor like a 110 hp in my 1997 GTI...

    1997 Seadoo GTI wont run

As I suspected there are pieces from the piston in the lower crank case. Can it be possible the the crank and bearings could still be ok since the engine was not ran much after the back piston top ring caught the exhaust port. I will be putting in new sleeves since the cylinders are in bad shape...

    1997 Seadoo GTI wont run

Ok I need help to find a great price on Wiseco or WSM Top end kit for my 1997 Sea-doo GTI. I may need a new crank but I won't know for sure until I remove the cylinders tonight.

    1997 Seadoo GTI wont run

Went ahead and pulled the head to find the piston in the back has the edge torn where the ring goes. The wall of the cylinder has no scratches or gouge marks. I hope I can just have the cylinder honed and put in new pistons and rings. I'm still concerned about the crank.

    1997 Seadoo GTI wont run

Well I ran the compression test and the back cylinder is at 0 compression and the front was at 96. The oil tank is about half full and had been full. Still unsure what has happened. I have checked the small oil injector lines going into the carb. and seem to be ok and are still attached. Also...

    1997 Seadoo GTI wont run

Was riding at a local lake in a no wake zone when the engine suddenly shut off. So i tried and tried to get it started back and no-luck, I managed to coast over to the bank and tie off, I popped the front compartment out and it had plenty of gas and oil. So I kept trying to start it until the...

I'm only getting around 45 mph. Does anyone know why the fuel gauge will only move barely above empty when it's full of fuel.

I actually live in Nicholasville. I dont get to ride much right now, but I hope to as soon as I get this thing straightened out. I also will be going to Herrington Lake as well. I'll use either Herrington Marina or Pandora

Yes, I didn't have the carbon ring seated properly. But now I do and I hope this fixes the problem. The wear ring appears to be fine.

Newbie lol I mastered riding it in the garage. The ski seemed to not want to go as if it was drawing air and not pushing water. I think i found the problem earlier because i didn't have the coupler back far enough on the drive line when I replaced it creating a leak.:banghead:

I'm new to the board and jet skiing. I have picked up a 1997 Seadoo GTI for $500.00 that runs great but needed a pto coupler and drive line. I tried it out today at a local lake with no success other than getting dumped in the lake.
