If you suspect that your issue is gauges and not other, then you may want to contact the original manufacturer of the seadoo gauges, Faria. You can find them on the internet and they do repairs. I think they are on the east coast USA. I'm sure they can provide more information if you contact...
From your original post, it seems the dash is completely dead even the check engine lights, etc. and you have analog gauges?
It would be nice to know if the check engine light comes on during the alarm, would help narrow things a bit. As I am sure you know, without any trouble codes trying to...
No, the TOPS should not cycle. It should activate and stay open while the engine is running. Make sure you are getting constant power, and if so just replace the TOPS. Should be good to go after that.
It is normal for the TOPS to activate when lanyard is on. The TOPS is a carryover from the ski's that prevents oil from leaking out of the engine if tipped upside down. Not really needed on boats, so seadoo removed this piece of hardware around 06. Since it sounds like you have a bad TOPS, you...
If your problem is a fused/coroded stainless steel ring to the shaft, then you may end up cutting it off. You can try to use penetrating oil/heat over several days to see of that works. If not then get out the cutting wheel and have at it. If you plan on keeping the shaft then be careful, you do...
I for one would very much like that to be true, but the fact remains supercharger failure is the arguable the #1 issue that affects these engines. There is definitely a price for power. If it were me and a new boat with a supercharger that had not been inspected for 7 years, I would pull it and...
If no other engine lights or codes when you run it, I would still lean toward a supercharger issue.
I am no expert with the superchargers, but from what I have read, they still need to be rebuilt based on time despite what Seadoo says. Think most people are still recommending every 2 years or...
I do not own a supercharged version, but from what I understand you can take off the intake breather hose, reach in with your fingers and try to spin the turbine. If everything is in good shape and intact it is usually difficult to impossible to spin freely using just your fingers. If it is easy...
I am pretty sure that is how they are supposed to be. The newer versions of stainless steel rings are bigger, give you more play. As long as the carbon ring fits into the bellows well, and the ID of the stainless steel ring is the same as the old one you are good. Remember the carbon ring is...
How much oil is leaking? Are you measuring drops or quarts? Does it leak when sitting not running or only running? Sounds to me like the two o-rings inside the PTO seal, which are technically supposed to be replaced any time you remove the drive shaft. They are also easily damaged by the...
You are most likely correct about that, I'm not an expert on the models (could have done my math a little better too). 185's were not intercooled, but 215's I remember were? Anyway, something to look at and verify. I have and N/A and very happy.
Hope the new rectifier solves your issues, OEM for these is definitely the way to go. After market just does not last that long. Let us know how it goes...
If you have an engine oil leak on the drive shaft at the bellows it is the sealing o-rings inside the PTO seal. Need to remove the drive shaft and replace both o-rings, then reinstert the drive shaft carefully. The o-rings are internal to that bearing set, not on the drive shaft itself. If...
Looks like you have supercharged engines from the title of the post. If so, water intrusion is more likely to be a symptom of leaky intercooler (if so equipped) or even internal leaks to the exhaust manifold. That is where I would start. Could have even been simply left on the running hose...
