    Beeper

On my SPX, the beeper is connected to thermoswitch on the motor to indicate overheating. The switch is open normally except if overheated, which then closes the connection to the battery, which turns on beeper. Not sure how you are testing but maybe switch is bad. Might take out switch and put...

What would you pay for this 96xp

I have my two SPX w/trailer for sale now @$2500. New batteries, fuel lines replaced along with carb rebuild, fuel filters added, fuel gauges repaired, etc. Trailer was home built, rusty but repaired, with new tires. Had them out last weekend at Lake Glenville and both ran good. However...

    No spark... 1995 Sea-Doo spi

Yes. That is how it is done, along with a rebuild for many. Research it before starting.

    No spark... 1995 Sea-Doo spi

The carb filters are probably already clogged. You will find info re the cleaning on this forum. And also the fuel switch should be cleaned. I added an outboard fuel filter in the fuel line to avoid having to tear into the carbs again. I had the same issues when I first got my SPX's.

'96 XP will not start after fuel line replacement

Seems like you did all the right things. I suspect carb redo may be faulty, assuming spark is good. Good luck. :frown:

What kind of spark are you getting at the plugs? None? You said you were getting some earlier, maybe just not enuf. Fuel? Thats the other ingredient. Carb filters cleaned, fuel lines replaced?

I had similar problem. Put a towel over the top and crank engine. That will probably clean them out.

    Oil requirements

You do not need to buy the Seadoo brand. The key spec is TC-W3. Look for that in other brands, even WalMart.

FOR SALE Two 1995 657 cc SPX w/Trailer

Family has gone on and I'm getting too old to get out on the lake enough. I have done quite a bit of work on these babies since I got them from my daughter. First problem was the fuel lines and dirty carbs, all lines replaced and carbs cleaned and rebuilt. The original trailer was busted with...

    Not reving up

Thanks guys. I have only put about 50 hours on these but don't know about previous owners. Current problem with bogging down, not compression, and I will continue on that first. If they need a top end job I may go for that too but anything more will be a no go. I am 75 yo and my...

So the lower 12 mm hose connects to bottom of engine and provides oil supply for the RAV valve gear shaft. That must be where the oil seal leaks into the crankcase. Hence that line should be the one to put a valve into to stop oil from fouling plugs during storage, even for short periods. The...

    Not reving up

Sorry but I can't figure out which of the oil lines to put valve into. The 12 mm one connects to bottom of engine and I, after reading the service manual and these comments don't know its function. The 8 mm line has an oil filter in it and connects to the oil pump, which shoots oil into the...

    Not reving up

Looks like there are two oil lines in the parts diagram. One is 8 mm and other 12 mm. The 8 mm is supposed to go to oil pump. The 12 mm may be a return. I'm going to look at them again. I went back out on the lake on Labor Day after only 6 days of sitting so oil shouldn't have seeped in that...
