Broke the steering cable on my 97 XP. Got new one from SBT. Got it all installed but could only finger tighten the nylon nut by the jet pump that seals and secures the cable on the rear of the ski. Anyone got a trick fro tightening that nut without removing the jet pump? Thanks for your help...

I checked the part number on the cdi and it’s different so although it looks the same, my guess is no.

Can you use the starter relay and cdi from a 97 Xp 951 in a 96 Xp 787? I know the boxes are different but the guts ( relay and cdi) look the same.

Suke, paint job looks awesome. Any reason you used the multi purpose clear instead of the automotive clear? The john deere yellow farm equipment paint says it is an automotive paint so not sure if it makes any difference which clear you use. I am totally new at this so sorry for so many...

Hey Suke great work! I am following your lead and got a single gauge hood for my 96 xp. Never done much painting but going follow your lead using these products to paint it yellow. Any hints on prepping the purple hood for priming? Thanks in advance, love reading all about your resto and mods.

Where do you get OEM brushes? Turns out the kits I had were Caltric.

I would but I already put it in the ski. Seller gave me a credit so I am going to see how it does.

Here is pick of the label. Peeled the paint back and it says DENSO but it says made in thailand. There is no "ND" on the starter clutch assembly which makes me think its an aftermarket knock off that someone put the sticker on.

So I bought an "oem" starter off eBay. Does not have the ND stamp but does have denso label but says thailand and not Japan. Good starter or did i get ripped off?

I purchased a Celox off ebay. Any recomendations? I have been through two now.
