Well that was the issue. I tested all the parts on the aftermarket stator and they all tested good. The trigger was 251.2 ohms and the 3 yellow stator wires were all. 5ohms each. I tried moddifing the new trigger to fit the original bracket which looked promising. I didn't want to modify the...

I think I found the issue. It looks like the trigger coil mounting bracket sits to high causing there to be to big of a gap.

It also says it's a direct replacement for the boat.

I wish I got pics of the new parts.
