Mikidymac just to be sure, would I block off the return port on the Mag carb to make sure the gas went back to the PTO carb where the accelerator pump is located, also I assume I am blowing about 5 lbs of air into the gas tank through the return hose, correct? Thank you.

I removed the two carbs from my challenger boat to rebuild, the PTO carb does have the fuel accelerator pump attached to it. When re-starting engine can I just keep pumping the throttle handle to get gas into the carbs from the tank? This seems like a lot of pumping and I don't want to damage...

I did put the floats in a bottle of gas and they did float so I am pretty sure it is not that. Thanks again. Cliff

Thanks popps, another post explained how to check the f1 fuse with a meter and it was good, so it still has to be something else or the gauge itself???? Thanks again for responding. Cliff

Thank you, I did as you explained and it was perfect, but I didn't find my problem with the gauge as it is a sealed unit. Is there a way to check the connections in the console with a volt meter or continuity meter to tell if the gauge is at fault, I don't want to buy a new gauge if it is not...

How do you remove the gas gauge in a 1997 challenger boat, it is located behind the steering wheel housing? Thank you Cliff.

mikidymac, thank you for your reply and yes the brass fittings were actually capped off with new 3/32" hoses in the hope of one day going back to the oil injection system, which I had to go with because my oil tank split in half and I cannot find another one as of yet. This being in a challenger...
