    Low compression question

Yeah I got quoted 200/ea cylinder with replating... but I'm sure I'd end up needing a new piston too. All the refurbished engines seem to be sleeved...

    Low compression question

Is it possible to get a low compression from a weak battery? Long story short I need to rebuild my gp800 and a guy is selling one super cheap that revs out of water but only 2k in water. Changed plugs but didnt make a difference. I'm thinking of buying his and taking the parts I need but will...

2002 GTX RFI won't run over 30 mph.

Mine had a similar issue which turned out to be an old coupler from exhaust to noise suppression units. The smoke exhaust was filling the chamber and bogging down the engine. Only happened if I slowed down, I wouldn't be able to gain speed again. Once I found the leak it was a $10 fix. Did it...

You said it ran fine for 20 minutes and slowed down. Random question: When you took the seat off was there smoke in the hull?

99 GP800 Top End Rebuild questions

If you look at pic "bad piston clean 1" in the exhaust port whole there is a circular object, that's the support shaft of the power valve. All that metal was the power valve, and there is a good chance the base of the piston is toast. Thanks for the help I started calling around and an couple...

99 GP800 Top End Rebuild questions

Hey guys! So our GP800 decided to be glutenous and devoured a power valve (typical of this ski I know). We bought it used from someone 2 months ago and they had assured us that the Wave Eater clips had been installed (that turned out to be a complete lie)... Anyways I dropped in an...

    Oh $*@&

Wife really liked the gp800, honestly I did too but I was weary from everything i read, gave in and we bought it only to discover these wonderful shavings in a seized engine after 3 days of riding... Lesson learned, I'll be keeping an eye out for another doo to join the gtx in the trailer...

    Winterizing question

Going to winterize in 2 weeks and I'm wondering if it's ok to winterize a ski like you do a boat. I have a 10 gallon nalgene container that hooks up to a hose so I was planning on putting the anti freeze in that and using it to flush the system like a post ride flush. Do you guys think that is...
