I own a 2001 Islandia with 240 Optimax
I hate to say it, but I’d run for the hills from this boat...not because it isn’t fun and functional but because finding / affording parts and someone to service it is an absolute joke. Quite possibly the worst co-op (SeaDoo & Mercury) that I’ve ever seen...
Can’t seem to find wet exhaust hose specs in manual (between expansion housing an muffler). Can anyone tell me the the size (diameter) I need?
Thanks all
I’ve always owned sterndrives....own two now in fact.
I finally got my 2001 Islandia on the water, a swift moving river (6 mph); I found the thing was almost impossible to finesse around docks.

“I think it is hard to block off the Oil inj on the 240 because the ECU would need to be reprogrammed to not put the engine in Limp mode when the sensor fails to see inj oil. I think the the inj system...
I disassembled my gear case to replace the pinion gear set and bearings...when I reassembled it I forgot about the seal protector at the stator oil seal...I found it after I was done...Yep, I goofed big time. Is that a crucial part? Do I need to disassemble again and install it?
Finally got around to dealing with this....Turns out my shift cable was absolutely junk and froze up..replaced the cable, lubed and greased the controls and now it’s smooth as butter.
