1996 gsx oil leaking from head/gasket

Yea it's reassuring knowing that everything looks good on the top end. I ordered new o rings since it's apart. That's interesting about the moisture and vibration causing this. It does look like a grayish oily substance. I took it out last year twice and it made a mess inside the hull though ...

1996 gsx oil leaking from head/gasket

So I was able to pull the head off today. Nothing really stuck out as an obvious issue. Piston tops looked ok aside from some carbon build up. Domes looked good. Rubber gaskets in all areas looked fine. I thought everything looked decent for 22 year old engine with 125 hours on it. I may get a...

This made it so easy! Drained the tank. Blew out the rotory cavity. Changed the filter. Put in some fresh xps and bleed the feed lines. New starter solenoid and she fired right up. Thanks for the help!!

1996 gsx oil leaking from head/gasket

So upon further inspection i found oil on the other side of the head as well. Looks like it may have started last year judging by the amount splattered everywhere. I cleaned the carb filters last year and the ski ran hard the few times i had it on the lake. Started right up this season too...

1996 gsx oil leaking from head/gasket

What's up guys. I have a 96 gsx that I just pulled out of storage and was prepping to use it for the 1st time this season. Did the yearly maintenance (pump oil, plugs, grease) like ever year. After I had it running I noticed oil seeping out from between the head and jug. What am I looking at...

    96 xp oil filter

Is there a procedure for clearing the rotory cavity out? I can't seem to find it in the manual. Same goes for filling it. Is that gravity or will bleeding the injector lines refill it? May as well replace the lines too. Thanks.

    96 xp oil filter

Hey everyone. I'm currently going through a 96 xp i picked up at the end of last season. PO bought it for his wife from the 1st owner who bought it new from dealer. Needless to say, his wife didn't like the ride. The machine is very clean but of course somethings need attention over the years...

    96 gsx starting issue

Looking for some help here guys. Been chasing a starting issue all season. Put key on. Get the 2 beeps every time. Hit the start button, sometimes I get a clunk. Sometimes it's a click. Sometimes it turns over. Sometimes nothing at all. I was able to get the ski started a few times during these...

    Carb/Throttle cable issue

This dude right here, nailed it. You know your stuff. This was exactly the problem. I somehow missed this the 2 dozen times or so I had the carbs off. Finally caught it out of the corner of my eye in the right light and sure enough, one of the clamps from the new fuel lines was restricting the...

    Carb/Throttle cable issue

So an update. I want to thank mano and diesel for there suggestions. Checked all the fuel lines and clamps to make sure nothing was rubbing. Inlet fuel clamp was a bit high and was touching the cable bracket. I adjusted the clamp but same result. I removed the rear carb, and with the front...

96 gsx. Cavitation issues and or fuel problems.

Ugh. I was afraid of that. Taking the plate off doesn't look like fun. I'll dig into this over the weekend and report back. Thanks.

96 gsx. Cavitation issues and or fuel problems.

The small tab that's cracked just under the metal intake grate? I figured that was part of my ride plate. If that's part of the intake grate then that should be easier to fix. Would that even cause cavitation? How would I go about repairing that? Would an expoy hold up? Sorry for all the...
