    Default How to know if oil pump is working properly?

    I have a question about the oil pumps on a 97 gti how do you check to see if its getting proper lubrication besides looking for smoke? Just want to be sure its getting oil to engine like its supposed to thanks for anyones help!

    Mark the tank with a piece of tape. Then go out for a bit and check it when you are done. It should go down enough to see the difference.

    Replace the two small 3/32" id tygon (weedeater fuel line) oil injection lines every two years. You need a 6" long and an 8" long. They will just pull off, push on, a needle nose pliers to move the retaining clips.

    Thanks Bill i will do that for sure just curious though does my particular engine have them its the 720 ? Maybe i just havent looked far enough under the carb area i know my spi has them for sure thanks again

    Yes. Remove the airbox & arrestor, for access.
