Default 96 Seadoo Speedster Won't Start

Hello I am new to this forum but have always enjoyed posting on forum and exchanging information. I just purchased a 1996 Seadoo Speedster, I previous owned a Bayliner Jazz which was fun but older. The person I purchased if from said I just need to wigle the 'key' and it will fire right up. Well needless to say no go. I was wondering he hadn't started it this year and he didn't seem very boat savy. Do you guys have any tips as to how I can get my boat started? New plugs, etc. etc..... anything will help it sounds like this forum has some experts.

Welcome to the seadoo forum square pants. First thing to check is that the battery is fully charged or if its old replace it. Than check by making sure the wires from the battery to the ground- on the engine is clean and have a good connection. If all is good than I would check out the DESS, (Digital Electronic Security System).
Start by cleaning the Post on the safety lanyard. It is beeping and saying it isn't connecting to the Mpem, (Multi Purpose Electronic Module) It needs to beep 2 times to let you know it is ready to start. Clean the post and cap with soapy water. Don't use any grease of lubricant on it as it needs a clean connection to make contact. Connect the lanyard to see if it is making a connection. 2 beeps and it's ready to fire up. Some times the beeper is bad. Feel it for a vibration as it just might not be beeping. If that is the case it can be replaced from Radio Shack for less than $15.00. Give this a try.
Keep us posted on you progress, as were here to help.

    Karl

Well I did those things, and it started!! Kind of one engine start and the other just acting like it was going to start and just kept cranking. Any suggestions.
