Default 97 GTX Start up after 2 years

My 97 GTX has been sadly sitting in the garage for 2 years and hasn't been out. Only has 80 hours on it and I'm trying to get it prepped to take to a mechanic to clean the carbs (including the carb filters) and start it up. Here is what I've done so far. Replaced the fuel lines, cleaned the selector valve, syphoned old gas out, cleaned the RAVE's, drained and filled jet pump oil, and got a new battery.

I also have a new oil filter and wonder if I should replace the oil lines? Is it as easy as changing the gas lines? Anything else I should do?

I've spent the last two summers and this summer watching my 12 and 14 year old boys play select baseball, and the SeaDoo got neglected. Been to Cooperstown and back and going again next summer.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Sounds like you have done about everything you need to do.

Yes it would be a good idea to install a new oil filter, the oil lines should be O.K.

When you put it away did you add Stabil and winterize the ski. If you did I would be tempted to empty the gas tank (not a bad idea even if you take it to a mechanic), put fresh gas in the tank, see if she starts. You might also need a new battery, which you can probably buy cheaper yourself.

    Good Luck,

    Lou

Default Parts List - Tune up - 787 Rotax

I spent a lot of time reading numerous posts to figure out what all I needed to do to restart my neglected GTX. I had it on the water all week and it's running like a top and hitting 60 MPH! Started by replacing the gray fuel lines, fuel filter, and inline oil filter. Cleaned the RAVEs including new gaskets and O-Rings. Replaced the oil filter and new oil lines to the carbs. Changed the jet pump oil and got a new battery. After all this, i found a local SeaDoo mechanic who cleaned the carbs and put in new diaphragms and did final adjustments. If anyone in the Dallas area needs a good mechanic, send me a private message and I'll hook you up. He worked for 15+ years at a local SeaDoo/Yamaha dealer and got tired of the corporate BS and now works on his own.

Here is a partial parts list that might help others:

    Fuel Lines:
20 feet of Black Automotive 1/4 inch fuel line
    Hose Clamps - Size 4

Jet Pump Oil Change (following SeaDoo Manual instructions)
    Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Oil - 75-90 GL5
Permatex 51813 Anerobic Gasket Maker (Same as Loctite 518)
Permatex 24200 Medium Strength Threadlocker Blue (Same as Loctite 242)
Permatex 80631 #14 Thread Sealant w/ teflon (Same as Loctite PST 592)

    Small Oil Lines to Carbs:
Tygon Fuel Line 1/8 inch inside diameter (clear yellow) about 3 feet purchased at the local hobby shop.

    Spark Plugs - NGK BR8ES
