Default Bad jet pump bearing? replace?

Ok so i was working on my 1996 GTX b/c i flooded the engine by keeping the hose hooked up to it, after i got all the water out of it i ran it on the stand to make sure everything was fine for about 25 mins....and now i am told i probably fried the bearing in the jet pump.
I don't hear a bad bearing when i run it out of the water or when it idles in the water.
But i took it out today and i noticed when i gun it and it is getting up on a plane i hear a metal to metal sound (not too loud, but can be herd over the engine) and i dont hear anything when i am going good at like 45mph. Could this be a bad bearing? or is it a normal sound?

What can i do to check the bearing? what do i have to take apart? Please be detailed in your descriptions b/c i dont know a lot when it comes to seadoos.

other then the noise it runs like a champ

If you suspect that your impeller bearings are done, I would remove the pump. That way you can check the oil in your impeller and physicall move and turn the impeller to see if the bearings are shot. Pretty straight forward job. Do ya have an seadoo manual, it explains it all.

Well, my seadoo manual is not good at explaining the removal of the impeller housing. I took the bolts off the forward/reverse gate, bolt out of the steering arm(all of these are on the impeller housing end of things) Then remove the 4 BOLTS holding your nozzle on (think they are 13mm) then remove nozzle, then the 4 16mm NUTS holding the impeller housing on. Some times the housing can be glued with silicone and are kinda hard to get off.
Once off just rotate your impeller and feel for roughness or pull the nose cone off and see if it has oil or oil water mix. Mine was full of rusty water so I bought a impeller rebuild kit and took it to a seadoo dealer for the bearing removal/install, $50 was cheap as special tools are needed for the bearing clearances.

ok so i pulled the jet pump out from the seadoo and it sounds fine when i spin it with my hand (maybe a little "woosh" noise, but not metal-to metal). If it sounds fine when i spin it, is it most likely fine at 7000rpm? Or should i do anything else to check it while it is out

Well I don't know if its fine, but as it is all apart might be a good time to change oil in your impeller, you will know then I would assume because the oil will show the condition of the impeller bearing I would think. You have to use the proper seadoo impeller oil when you re-fill.If its clean oil I would just replace the oil, lube both ends of your drive shaft. Check to see if your rubber bumpers are on the very end of your drive shaft, both ends.Re Install.

if its a carbon seal setup, push the "steel" collar toward motor, this will expose a metal "snap-ring". Pop the ring, loosen up the clamps, and out she goes...
