    Default Seadoo Recall Alerts!....

    Recall alert
    Date: November 11, 2008

    Dear Sea-DooŽ Sport Boats Owner,

This Safety Recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard and Transport Canada and is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Boat Safety Act and other applicable laws.

What is the reason for this notice?
In cooperation with Transport Canada and the U.S. Coast Guard, Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. (BRP) are conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain Sea-DooŽ 200 Speedster and 200 Speedster Wake of model year 2007/2008, and of the Speedster 200 and Speedster 200 Wake of model year 2004 to 2006 Sport Boats, that are equipped with a wakeboard tower.

    What is the potential problem?
Cracks or breaks can develop in the welded joints of the tower attachment ends above the upper rear leg attachment points which, in rough water or towing conditions, can allow the tower to disengage from the rear legs. If this occurs, the tower could then fall onto the boat and its occupants, potentially resulting in serious injuries or death.

    What should you do?
Immediately stop using your boat pending further communication from BRP. Should you wish to continue using your boat, call an authorized BRP Sea-Doo dealer and make an appointment to have the wakeboard tower removed from your boat. The dealer will perform this work at no charge to you.

BRP is presently working on establishing an appropriate solution to prevent the potential occurrence of this failure and will contact you with further instructions.

What to do if you feel this notice is an error?
This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available. If you no longer own this vehicle or some information in this notice is incorrect, please contact BRP at your earliest convenience.

If you have questions, need assistance, or wish to find the nearest authorized BRP dealer:

    Default Recall alert Oct. 2006

    Date: October 10, 2006

    Dear Sea-DooŽ Sport Boat Dealer,

This Safety Recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard, which will monitor its effectiveness, and Transport Canada, in Canada.

What is the reason for this notice?
In cooperation with Transport Canada and the U.S. Coast Guard, Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. (“BRP“) are conducting a voluntary safety recall of all Sea-Doo sport boats equipped with ROTAX naturally aspirated, 155 hp, 4-TEC engine, model year 2003 to 2007, as specified in the attached Safety Campaign Bulletin.

    What is the potential problem?
Some pieces of the air box may detach. This may allow broken pieces to be drawn to the throttle body and in some cases, could prevent the throttle plate from returning completely to idle position, potentially leading to an unexpected failure to decelerate when the throttle lever is returned to the idle position. This situation could cause a collision with bystanders, a fixed object or another vehicle and potentially cause serious injuries or even death.

    What will BRP do?
BRP has already sent a Safety Recall letter to all known registered owners of these vehicles. This letter urges that the owners immediately stop using their vehicle and contact their BRP dealer to get their vehicle repaired. Also, BRP posted this notice and attached Safety Campaign Bulletin on its BOSSWeb dealer website (www.bossweb.brp.com) and on its public web site (www.sea-doo.com).

    What should you do?

Do not deliver any involved vehicle before doing the repair.
Contact all of your customers who have purchased this product. You must inform them about the foregoing and must request that they immediately stop using their vehicles and that they make an appointment to get their vehicles repaired.
Follow all instructions provided in the attached Safety Campaign Bulletin.
If you have questions about this notice, please call:
    1-800-366-6992 (USA) or 1-800-361-9980 (Canada)
