Is it common to have problems with the exhaust manifolds on the 4tec engines? A mechanic told me that my exhaust manifold is showing signs of failure because it is hot to the touch and should not be. This is on my 2005 RXT. Never heard of this before. Is this really a problem?

That was what my problem was. I had one injector almost completely clogged. It's relatively cheap and can only increase performance.

If you google Mr. Injector you can get info on having injectors cleaned. You pull them, mail them to him, and get them back in just a few days. He does them for a very reasonable price.

I have been trying to find someone who works on PWC's near me for a while. I actually found a guy in Moyock, NC who will provides a mobile service. I have an appointment for 6/13. I will let everyone know how it works out. I know there has to be some others in the area who would be interested.

I think they changed the mount design at some point. Mine broke too. Mine are welded and withstood an 800 mile trip. Might need a better welder or have the balance on your tires checked.

Try getting your fuel injectors cleaned

Have you thought about using a tap and putting in slightly larger set screws. A fastener store (like Fastenal) or a hardware store could probably help you with that. Don't know if it could be your problem but you could probably eliminate it as a possibility.

I think the older and smaller engines are cheaper to replace. There are some people who have replaced smaller engines with bigger ones. From what I have read it seems like a pain. But I am no expert on SeaDoo engines. You might want to ask that question in the 2 stroke section. Probably more...

It looks like that is around 3 hours from me. Maybe meet up at the lake sometime. I didn't even run my Seadoos last year. The year before my RXT was running ok but I still haven't got the GTX DI running well. May have to take it to a dealer.
