You can run non AP carbs and rejet. I delete the AP on all my skis.

I believe it was @racerxxx that made them. I've been 3D printing block off plates for a few years now. Works well but not as nice as the aluminum ones.

It's almost always the two exhaust mount bushings and/or pipe alignment and torque sequence. The updated exhaust manifold with the o-ring helps too.

Many race parts for sale on the FB groups. Lots of scammers as well though. Spec I and II pipes have gotten to be pretty expensive these days.

I've bought a few of the eBay lens replacement kits. They definitely make it look better if your LCD is not burnt bad.

There was a TSB released for the defective 1997 RAVE housings. They need to replaced with 96 or 98+ housings.

Head, pipe, and carbs. I'd leave it stock though and get a 787 XP/SPX if you want to mod one. Will make a lot more power reliably than a 717.

Think the 98 was the fastest since the hull is a hair lighter than the rest (except the 95 XP800). I am running 97 SPX water box in mine because I heard the baffles wont break like the 96s.

Do you need just the pump? (your impeller and nozzles are OK). No a 140mm pump will not fit, you need a 155mm.

I wouldn't trust cheap oil at all, esp for the RV loop

98's are single coil and 99+ models are dual coil. If you mix up the MPEMs or mag cups between the two you will have timing issues.

97 SPX, great ski. Most sought after are the 98 and 99 SPX.

Some do run two different oils. I just use the same in both.
