Swap it for a bearing carrier. I remove the carbon seal on all my skis.

Is this a carb model? If so, run the fuel line directly from the reserve pickup to the carbs.

The service manual has a diagram showing the cooling circuit and water flow direction. You should be able to find where your blockage is by following that.

OSD Marine has rebuild kits. Could also get a complete used pump off ebay for fairly cheap.

The aftermarket ones will work but I prefer to rebuild a clean OEM pump. They seem to be made with higher quality material. You'll want to upgrade to the newer style pump as well (2000 and later if i remember correctly). The 98 was more prone to cracking than the later years.

They pop up fairly often on the facebook seadoo X4 groups. A few guys still run them but majority (include myself) prefer the Factory Pipe Spec 2 (or spec 1 for rec).
