98 GTX LTD trying to get it to start for the first time

Yeah like he said, I thought I had a little slack in my throttle cable after replacing the cable and carbs. It was just a little tight and I backed the idle screw all the way out so it’s not even a factor. Adjusted the cable to get a little slack, made sure to line up the marks on the oil pump...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

It’s some scary shit when they run away too! I’ve experienced it several times and learned my lesson. Have to pull the choke like your life depends on it and pray the choke cable don’t break lol.

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

Final piece of the puzzle was definitely the TPS.... Throttle position sensor had me stuck around 6200 RPM’S replaced it and now at 6930 RPM’S 57-58 MPH. Finally...I’ve done a lot of work to it and it’s gotten better with each thing I’ve done. So anyone that has similar issues....check the TPS...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

I ordered a new throttle cable... I went through the process of checking it for proper voltage and it failed the test. It’s also probably the only part on the ski that hasn’t been replaced since it was made about 22 years ago! I’m sure it’ll take care of the problem...I’ll post the results next...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

Today I tried it with the springs and caps off the rave valves and no change in the. I’m starting to think the throttle position sensor is the issue here. I checked it according to what I read and it didn’t check out ok as working normally. I have replaced that piece of exhaust hose you were...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

Nothing wrong with the brand new carbs, all new lines, filter etc etc. Even pulled the baffle cleaned out the tank which wasn’t dirty at all just did it to know it wasn’t a problem. On another pwc site they said it’ll be stuck around 6200 in the tps on the throttle cable isn’t working properly...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

Ok thank you... That makes sense...no power to solenoid at low rpms had me wondering if it the MPEM was acting up or if it calls for power at higher rpms. Of course all the different skis and engines may be different so it’s hard to know for sure. Run away engine is a nightmare especially if...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

I’ve had this beast for 12 years... It’s tried to run away many times not even trying to rev it lol.... That’s a scary beast sometimes! Do you know if the 951 2000 GTX rave solenoid is supposed to be powered with 12 volts all the time or if it doesn’t have any power till higher rpms?

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

It’s doing good...just can’t get above 6200 rpm at wot... I’m looking into why tomorrow, going to be trying it without tops on the rave valves. Still trying to confirm this about throttle cable. (Photo) I checked for 12 volts at the rave valve solenoid and nothing...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

On the rave valve solenoid that has two wires going to it says 12 V on it. Is that 12 V going to be there anytime the key is on or when running only? 951 2000 GTX Thanks

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

Ok.... Here’s a photo from another site of a discussion they had. I’m just wondering if anybody can confirm that this throttle cable needs to be replaced if you hold your throttle to 80% or more and you have 5 V DC and it does not drop to 0 V DC when you get to 80% throttle or more. Mine does...

It’s going to be fun whenever I set fire to this damn thing and sink it... Should be on the news soon....

2000 GTX RFI hesitation on takeoff why?

Thanks here’s the full description of what I was talking about. It’s the 951 carb engine...2000 GTX. I replaced the rave valve solenoid already just because it was old and easy to get to. I have a new check valve for the case going to the rave valve solenoid. Going to replace that and the line...

2000 GTX RFI hesitation on takeoff why?

I have a question on the subject of a Throttle position sensor... While on this subject I’m checking mine now. Rpm is staying at 6200 is the reason I started looking into that. I read the white with black stripe wire on this plug on the tps should read around 5 vdc power till you pull the...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

Totally shot carbs caused extreme flooding which I suspected was happening. That’s been fixed and fuel in cb area has been eliminated. Runs great now and seals seem to not have any problems whatsoever. I believe the crankshaft seal additive helped but whatever was going on isn’t anymore. Not...

Fuel keeps displacing the oil I’m putting in the counter balance reservoir area...Possible flooding?

If the crank seals were leaking as mine seemed to be... I just add a little extra and it smokes a little more at first and burns it off. Now that the flooding situation has been fixed it doesn’t get fuel in there anymore. I just add a little more than needed and before I go out each time I add...

    Horrible cavitation issues

I had bad cavitation in my 2000 Sea-Doo GTX. The sealant behind the jet pump and impeller was gone in most places in there. I just fixed it yesterday and haven’t tried it out yet. I also cleaned up and smooth out the whole area in front of the intake great and the intake grade itself and...

    Horrible cavitation issues

From what I read last night because I was having similar problems that’s why I’m on here reading about the stuff again. I read where if there are any imperfections around the water intake grille on the bottom it could do that. I’m going to be checking and wet sanding everything around the intake...
