Hey, everybody, first of all let me thank you all, because even though i just became a member. Everytime I've had a question, I would come on here and find the answers, so THANKS!
Well, what i wanted to ask now, was. I have a 1997 Seadoo Challenger 1800, in good Condition. ( except for two tears on the backseats from the sun.) I'm thinking of buying a PWC because I recently went through a divorce, and i just dont see any use for it anymore, if i'm gonna be riding alone. So my question was, getting the seats fixed, what is a fair price to ask for my boat. I have pictures of the boat at www.pbase.com/gvpstudio , so you can take a look at it.
( Can anyone that has had their seats redone, tell me how much they paid? )

Nice boat Jeff. I use Kelly's blue book when others on the site have asked that question, but when I went to the web site, outside of cars, they only have motorcycles, snowmobiles and PWC's.....I didn't see a link for boats what so ever......that's strange.
You can get an idea on what the boat will bring in by going to ebay and looking for your boat. Put it on, what have you got to lose. You may get a bid a lot higher than you were expecting.
The seats, I've see several of the back seats, upper's for sell also on ebay.
Sorry I can't help ya anymore...

yeah. I actually had the boat on e-bay about a month ago. I was asking for $5k, which i thought was a fair price, but had only one bidder who never payed, so i ended up loosing my insertion fee. Maybe I'll try putting it for sale on here. I guess people who want to buy these boats come to these sites. thanks for the info.

Yeah, I was able to read it..........man, I wish I met you before I bought my Challenger..........I paid $4500 on it and thought I got a good deal, but for an 1800 at 5k, I'd have taken that any day!.......plus it has a bimini!....
I think the prices you have from Nada are legit........that sounds more than fair...

I have the smaller version of yours. The 14 foot with the single 110 hp 787 rotax engine. I bought it this past year. I have looked at them for over a year and was watching for one to come up for sale closer to home. You won't believe how many people from the North have these machines......I didn't know they had that much water up there. Most of the States that I thought didnt' even have water!.........
Can't say that I know of anyone wanting one now...With summer time gone, it may be wise to work and clean it up a bit and put it on the market in the spring........that's when you'll probably get your best price.

Yeah, thats a wise idea. I actually had it detailed about a month ago. It came out great. Like I said before, the only eye sore on the whole boat is the cracks on the backseat. I wish someone here in florida new somebody that would recover them for a good price. because once i get that fixed. It'll be mint. Although sometimes i think that once i do fix it, i might end up keeping it. Because eventhough its a big boat for one person, ( and a pwc would be just enough for me) its fun to go out with friends. But if it comes down to getting less than 5k ( i payed $10k-2 years ago.) or having to keep the boat. I'll just keep it.

I think you'd be best to go for 6k. It's a nice boat and with the price of Seadoos, they do seem to keep some value. I'd try for six.
BTW, I sold my 22ft. Catalina sailboat to someone in Louisana, where I made a profit on it. If you can get someone on ebay to do ya right, you should be able to get a good price. Living in Florida where everyone owns a boat, it may be a hard sale down there.........
Good luck!
