Stuck in 10th gear

My '01 Islandia with a 240 Merc is significantly slower out of the hole this year and I don't have a gauge to measure but my gas milage is significantly worse. The top speed is exactly the same.

I'n no expert but I'm thinking impeller.


Any ideas?

If the engine is revving higher than normal to get on plane, then yes it would be an impeller or wear housing problem. Clearance spec on it is .1 of an inch, or 2.54mm. Also any gouges or large dings in the impeller or housing will cause you to cavitate.
